Aloha,
Today was quite cool for the second (semi) day off I've had in about two weeks. I've been busy writing stories for Hawai‘i Business Magazine during this 10-week internship over the summer. The stories I'm currently working on involve the decline of country clubs on O‘ahu and about local designer Rumi Murakami for our waihine issue. I've been working so much, even over the past weekend, because I needed to go to the Moana Lani Festival at Salt Friday, Saturday and Sunday to not only cover the zero-waste summit held by the Surfrider Foundation but to also model in the We Are Worthy fashion show. I do not consider myself a model so I didn't have the best time psychologically but helping my friend (and getting my COM 201 homework done backstage) was a great experience. Included below is a preview of the fashion show.

So this weekend I've had the opportunity to go to ‘Ehukai beach, which wasn't as beautiful as the winter when I bodysurf there, and also Kalama beach park after a meeting for the media website I am currently creating with a friend called "Sleepless" or "zZ" for short. It is a media website that will feature the dopest shit on O‘ahu (for a lack of better words. Included, for subtance, will be the website when it is completed by our software developer but our meeting today did consist of finally purchasing the domain zzsleepless.com (so watch out!)
One of the cooler things I did get to do was watch a few movies with friends this weekend including Waterboy with Adam Sandler and Super Troopers 2. I always enjoy Waterboy because it is a classic Adam Sandler movie before his movies became old and boring. He plays a hilarious simpleton whom turns college football star after he is able to turn the misfortunates of his youth into a catalyst for opening a can of woopass on the feild. The movie Super Troopers 2 is also hilarious but for reasons I don't feel like everyone may agree with. Like the first movie, Super Troopers 2 is a kind of crude, insensitive humor that I feel like you'd only understand if you were very open minded (and have a sense of humor.) I don't want to ruin it for all of my comedy lovers but there is a scene in which Farva, the officer everyone loves to hate, is in a electric wheelchair and it is HILARIOUS but also makes me question my own morals. Anyway, I hope you all had an exciting last couple of weeks as I have.
Mahalo.
