8.2.18

On this day I had a get together with other intern's apart of this summer's 2018 society of professional journalist cohort or whatever. We met at Hawaii Public Radio and it was cool. Getting to see the classical music library and the area where people got on air was very interesting as well. So so so interesting considering that radio is a dying medium of mass communication. Considering that thought, I'm very appreciative I got to see all of this in action because who knows, maybe my children won't have these experiences or even know what radio is.

The others I were with interned at Civil Beat, some real estate company I forget the name, KITV and Hawaii Magazine. I found out one of my peers there is a stand up comedian and she has a shown at the Dragon Upstairs Sept. 1, a day before my bday! I would love to check it out.

I also had an epiphany that, considering the dying radio + television industries, I should start honing my skills at video or at least the production and editing so that I do not rely on my writing 100% to land me a career in the future. I am excited to practice using a gimbal and getting better at video editing because of this experience! Thank you.
